Born in Mullaghmore County, Tyrone, Ireland. In 1865 - He married Mary Elliott: Born 1841 - 27/08/1925

Robert came to New Zealand on the 18th October 1862. With his brother George, settled for a time on the Tatarariki Flat region. Occupation: Store keeper. (Could have been in Barrack Street, Wanganui). Married: Mary Elliott in St Stephens Church, Auckland, NZ. Mary came to New Zealand, January 12th 1862 - via Australia from Rosecerea Country Tipperary, Ireland.

Robert: Died in Wanganui. Age of 35 years. Cause of death: Diarrhea. Auckland Star. 22 February 1871. At the Lunatic Asylum on the 21st instant, Mr. Robert Lendrum. The funeral will leave his late residence, Barrack street (Thursday) 28rd at 3 o'clock. Friends are invited to attend. Buried at St Stephens, Symonds St, Auckland, NZ

(1st son)Robert John George: (Big Bob) 1871 - 1918 married (1905) Ethel May Griffin 1884 – 1967.

Known as "Big Bob" because of his age - his cousin Robert called "Little Bob". In 1905 they were living in Ashburton, Canterbury, NZ.

Robert died at 47 - (Joy was only six months old): Ethel established a nursing home in Hawera (New Plymouth) later a boarding house in Auckland.

Auckland Star. 6 April 1918. On March 31. at New Plymonth. Husband of Ethel May Lendnrm, and only son of the late Robert Lendrum, of this city.

Buried at Purewa Cemetery - Ethel, Gwendolyn, Gladys and Joy. Robert buried in New Plymouth

They have five children.
